Simply Green: WrapNatural

December 1, 2009 By Beth 64 Comments

I was introduced to WrapNatural recently. WrapNatural kindly sent me a complementary holiday print of their fabric “wrapping paper”.

What is WrapNatural? (taken from their FAQ)
At WrapNatural, we design and make our own brand of fabric gift wraps all by hand. Our reusable wrapping bags work just like disposable gift wrap. All are easy to use, and depending on your needs, some wrapping cloths offer greater control than others, like the gift-box wrap for instance.

Why is WrapNatural green and part of Simply Green? (taken from their FAQ)
WrapNatural isn’t so much a product as it is a gift-giving philosophy. Americans throw away 25% more trash between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day than any other time of year, and that doesn’t include all the trash leftover from birthday parties, showers, and other holiday gatherings, which adds up to 15% of everything we send annually to landfills. It doesn’t seem right, we thought, to add to that environmental burden while we’re trying to celebrate meaningful life events. With our reusable gift-wraps you can live and give sustainably.

My thoughts about WrapNatural …
The fabric is beautiful. My only issue with it is that I don’t want to give it away. I know that totally defeats the purpose. I am thinking it requires someone who will do a swap with you. You give them their present in a special container, a WrapNatural print in this case, and then they reuse it the next time they want to give you a gift. I love this concept. I have the shoebox that had many exchanges between a school age friend and I. She gave it back to me recently with hats for my girls in it. I think it is her turn to store it again soon here though!;)

WrapNatural has offered one of my readers one of their reusable wrapping holiday gift bags!!

So what are the details?

NOTE: I was provided with a complementary copy of the holiday print by WrapNatural to provide this review. No other compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I like the blue silk media bag.

To resolve your issue about not wanting to give it away, just give it to someone who won't mind when you ask for the wrapping back. My family members do this all the time and now we don't even have to ask- after opening the present, the recipient hands back the bag / box and tissue.
