Mamavation Monday: A Pause

February 15, 2010 By Beth

It is Mamavation Monday time again!Yes, this is my now standard reference to the Two Week No Soda Challenge. Here is that reference you again! I totally had my one soda limit on my birthday. It was very good with my not so good for me pizza and cake BUT it was my birthday!

What did I do last week? I didn’t met my workout goal. I was tired. I gave into being tired. My goal was to use my elliptical 3-5 times last week. I did two thirty minute sessions. oops! I did do much better at my water drinking though.=)

My challenge this week: The stare down challenge is continuing to work for me!! (I told you would.) Yes, even with only working out twice last week, I can say this is working for me. Squeaky (my elliptical has a name, doesn’t yours?) and I have already gotten two workouts this week (Sunday and Monday). I have decided to increase the resistance on the elliptical and keep my thirty minute sessions. Boy can I feel the increased resistance work out in my butt! woohoo! So my goal is four thirty minute sessions this week on resistance level 2! I have found the joy reading while doing my elliptical. It is really hard for me to do this but is making the time fly for me unlike watching TV so I am going to finish this book I started and see it continues to work for me.

Results so far: I am down 0 lbs since last Monday. (Weigh ins for the work challenge are Mondays so I weigh in then.) I am not sad over this all because last week was Beth Week and I totally enjoyed too much cake, brownies, pizza, and soda. Beth Week only comes once a year so I lived it up! I need to be able to do this and I happy I did. I am really proud that I didn’t go up weight-wise during this week of indulgence. That is HUGE for me! So now that I am done with the celebrations, I expect good results this week. I can say, I am down a pants size from when I started my lifestyle change and am not far from being down another pants size beyond that! (I can get that size on but I don’t like to wear pants THAT tight. LOL)

Thanks to everyone for their support so far. Knowing that I do this post every week is keeping me going! I know that normally with two weeks of zero change that I would ready to give up but that is certainly not the case this time around! So thanks to all of you for the motivation you are giving me!

When I celebrate and indulge I know what I am doing and ENJOY it. I try to have no regrets if it passes my lips since I take responsibility like a big girl. It sounds like you enjoyed your Beth Week! I want to wish you well for the serious business of this week with the eating and the continued stare down with the Squeakster.

It is great that you are doing this, and making regular blog posts about it will keep you on track! This is something I've been thinking about, too.

I love it when you are down a pant size cause then you know you are noticeably thinner. Don't ya think? I would trade that for the scale going down any day. 😉 XXOO

Never give up! You are shrinking and needing smaller clothes, and that is so awesome. I know you'll reach your elliptical goals this week. Be strong! You can do it.

Yay for shrinking pants! That's great.
I too like to read while on a treadmill or elliptical. It can make you a little sea sick, but it makes time fly!
Continue your workouts and have a fab week!

Everyone deserves a little break once in a while! Just keep up with it! It's those people who turn a break into giving up all together who regret it later!

It's ok to have a week that it not so good, as long as you keep at it. I have had my share of bad weeks and still have lost about 20 lbs! Keeping track on a blog is a good idea.
