Mamavation Monday: I lied

June 14, 2010 By Beth

It is Mamavation Monday time again! What did I do last week? I FINISHED the EA Sports Active 30 Day Challenge. YAY me!
I also lied. I hear you … WHAT?! What did she lie about? I saw someone at work that hadn’t seen me in months and they smiled at me and said “You lost weight. You are looking great.” I smiled and said yes I had lost weight and was working on it. Truth be told I haven’t lost a pound since the being of the year when I weighed myself. BUT I am down in clothing sizes so I know that am smaller. So yes, I lied. I was happy to be seen as smaller and enjoyed that moment fully!

My challenge this week: I am going to do some EA Sports Active work outs this week. I am not planning on starting another 30 day challenge this week because I have another work out series coming in the mail I agreed to do for my blog. I am hoping, really hoping, it is a good one that challenges me in different ways.

Results so far: A big fat no change at all. While doing my last work out on the EA Sports Active challenge on Saturday, I noticed that I was able to do the darn squats without being ready to die. I even did a squat while we were cleaning on Sunday. I didn’t even notice it until my husband saw me and said “nice squat there!” A stronger me is here even if it isn’t a lighter me … yet!

So what is next for me? We sold Squeaky, my elliptical, last week. Squeaky was very big and well squeaked. My husband never used Squeaky since he doesn’t really care for elliptical work outs. Don’t fret though … we have decided to take the money from selling Squeaky and part of our yard sale money to buy a bike that we will both use. I am ordering it today. I will miss Squeaky but the bike will be a good change of pace and will get more overall use I think … I hope. No, I know it will. It was sad for me to sell Squeaky because that was my first after college purchase for myself. But at the same time, I knew it was time to let go of that part of me and challenge myself to something new so here I come … well, as soon as it arrives!

If you haven't lost weight but are down in clothing sizes you're probably gaining muscle. Don't forget muscle weights more than fat. So I think you should re-evaluate your Results So Far. Don't you feel better?!? Aren't you stronger than when you started? Positive thinking Beth!

Losing inches and sizes is DEFINITELY better than losing pounds! (I agree with your first commenter — I bet you've lost fat and replaced it with muscle).

CONGRATULATIONS on completing the 6-week Challenge, the smaller sizes, and all of it!

Don't fret, Squeaky can live on in Squeaky II, our elliptical! And those darn EASActive squats! Oh my stinkin' word! Those KILLED me!

Even if the scale isn't showing change, the way you feel and look are SO important too! Congrats!!

Ah no more Mr. Squeaky?? He will be missed, seriously. Have a great time changing up your routine. It will only help with your goals and keep your size shrinking.
