A Conversation with God for Women

March 10, 2011 By Beth 1 Comment

I recently had the chance to get a copy of A Conversation with God for Women by Marcia Ford thanks to BookSneeze.com.

Details …

A front row seat to a fascinating conversation with God, Jesus, and other biblical characters answering important questions women have regarding life and faith.

A Conversation with God for Women allows readers a one-on-one dialogue with God, Jesus, and other important biblical characters as they respond to questions and concerns relevant to the Christian faith. The often challenging questions address issues and tensions specifically felt by women. Each answer, designed for both believers and seekers, is based on Scripture and written with the warmth and intimacy of a Heavenly Father relating to His child.

Categories and sample questions include:

*God, why don’t You just reveal Yourself? *Jesus, why was a virgin birth necessary? *The Bible, what can it teach women? *Life, what about women in ministry? *Prayer, can it really make a difference? *Relationships, how can we trust after betrayal? *Good and evil, how can they coexist?

My thoughts …
I really like the organization if this book. The sections are God, Jesus, The Bible, Life, etc. From there are the sub-topics that break down such as under Life the sub-topic of “How can we do it all?” The topics are short enough that you can read them one a time when you get a minute here or there instead of trying to find time to read the whole book through. The advice in the book is scripture based which is a nice tie in if you are looking for the justification or reference for the answers provided by the author.

I will say this book isn’t what I expected it to be. I honestly thought it would be story or example based but that really isn’t in the book. It is definitely more of theory based read than a life example read which I find hard to stay interested in for long periods of time. The organization of the book and the ability to just read small sections of it did help in that area though.

Overall, if you are looking for a nice, easy to read reference book to answer your questions about what the scriptures may say about questions around the Bible or Life then this book may just the book for you!

You can buy it new Amazon.com!

NOTE: I was sent a copy of this book in support this review. No other compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
