Coca-Cola “Pay It Forward” Program

Are you involved in My Coke Rewards? Do you know about the Coca-Cole Pay It Forward program?! 

Parents, relatives, friends and mentors can nominate aspiring youth between the ages of 16-21, now through March 2nd for a chance to win the apprentice experience. You can nominate up to five young people (the young person can also nominate himself/herself) and be entered for a chance to win a $5,000 sweepstakes with each nomination!

Four lucky nominees will be rewarded with the unique and exciting opportunity for an apprenticeship experience with one of the country’s most respected celebrity history makers:  business mogul Magic Johnson; chairman and CEO of BET Networks, Debra Lee; or hip hop artist and philanthropist, Common.

We don’t know many teenagers really well … yet. We know before we blink we will have three of our own but we know how exciting that time of your life is how AWESOME it would be to be nominated for the Coca-Cola “Pay it Forward” Program! 

We love to pay it forward and use those opportunities to teach the kids about sharing and caring. We use lessons such as food drives through Girl Scouts to the Angel Tree at our church to give Christmas gifts to remind our kids to share often! One of my favorite memories was picking up the dinner bill for a young family a few years  ago when I was on a business trip. It was a small gesture and they may not remember it today but I sure remember how amazing it was to do that for them that night.

  3. There are so many that are in need and are deserving. I think I would help the schools out. There are the ones molding our future leaders.

  5. Really cool love the concept I actually started a blog to sort of pay it forward. To teach young people like me who failed in highschool or dropped out of college to go into business for themselves. So I share business strategies for young people FOR FREE 🙂

  18. My kids and I help some elderly people in our neighborhood. We’ll go food shopping, shovel, rake, cut grass, etc. I’m even helping a 93 year old lady by driving her to her doctors sometimes.

  19. My daughter is currently in girl scouts and they have talked about taking a filed trip to our local animal shelter. Well just this past week, that animal shelter had a small fire (no humans or animals were harmed!) I would love nothing more than to take the $100 gift card and purchase supplies for the shelter THEN have the girls deliver it on their field trip! That would be such an amazing way to show a young group of five and six year olds how to pay it forward 🙂

  37. I’m part of an improv group and community and we do performances that are for good causes like raising money for people that need help

  44. I would donate it to mothers of angles, mothers that have lost daughters, I am one and I belong to a group her in my towm, we take our money and my gravestone for mothers that cann;t get them for kids, GOD BLESS AND KEEP YA’LL IN HIS LOVING ARMS.

  63. i try to pay it forward by giving back to the community and the youth by helping with community projects and with youth camps that are held by my community. i also try and volunteer my time as much as i can.

  69. I pay it forward by giving monthly fun money to my niece and nephew — both college students living off of noodles and peanut butter. Thanks for the chance to win the prize pack. I’ll pass it along if I win.

  80. My 18 year old cousin who just got accepted into an engineering PhD program (she makes me feel like a slacker…but I’m still very proud of her!)

  83. My parents! They will be struggling for money when my mom has surgery on her neck. She’ll be out of work for a couple of months and I want to help them out.

  85. I pay it forward by volunteering at my daughter’s school. I’m there helping out a few days a week, just doing whatever needs to be done. I love it and really feel like I’m helping when I volunteer. Thank you!

  88. I nominated my neighbor and I always sponsor families during Christmas, give out stuff all year long, buy things with coupons and then give them away and also donate all of my clothing and my son’s/ toys etc. that we don’t fit or play with anymore to people and then to thrift stores.

  92. My pay-it-forward is not anything that would impress anyone. Maybe some day that will change. Right now I pay attention to great deals and when I can get them I buy them buy the boatload and donate them to the sharing center at a local church, where I also volunteer. Besides that I just try to let my light shine. I like to bake and share things with people. I like to remember when someone has a favorite and make sure to present it to them for no particular reason.

  93. I pay it forward by doing what I can for others. Just giving someone your time/or an ear to listen is helpful.

  96. I pay it forward by donating weekly to Rise and Shine, a group that works with families with AIDS

  107. My kids and I visit our local Ronald McDonald house monthly to serve lunch to the residents staying there while their children are at the local hospital.

  109. I like to leave small gifts for people when they are working hard and not expecting anything. I also like to pay the toll or the bill for the person behind me. Over tipping a hard working waiter or waitress is another favorite.

  114. I would pay it forward by taking a couple of friends on limited incomes out to a nice lunch.

  121. I give to whoever whenever without thinking at times whether they need or not, it’s an unconcious thing and sometimes I cant control it but it’s ok 🙂

  122. i try and do nice things for my friends and coworkers, take care of them when they are sick, pick up shifts. little things.

  126. I would nominate my nephew. He volunteers with our local police department. We is a great kid and has volunteered in one form or another since he was 11 years old. He really belives in giving back to his community.

  132. Easy. We live in a very low income urban area so people are always running out of money at the grocery check out line. i can offer to pay for the person in front of me – they’re holding me up anyway, right?

  139. We donate products such as blankets, shampoo etc. and as much time as possible to our local homeless and women’s shelter.
    We also have a single mom on our street who is recently unemployed that we help to provide for. So this would go toward helping her with what she needs for the month.
    To me it teaches my children humility and what it means to care for others.

  141. I pay it forward by making bags for the homeless with toiletries ,snack food, and socks. I also pick up coats and thermal pajamas during the year and give them to shelter or homeless people I see on the street.

  145. I would nominate Ms. Linda, she is the children program coordinator in our community. She does so much for the community and is an amazing person. She works with the women and children’s homeless shelter and puts on amazing free programs for kids for the rest of the community as well! We love her!

  161. I pay it forward by volunteering and teaching a summer arts & crafts program, chaperoning teen dances and planning and working on a town Luau held in the summer as well as teaching a weekly senior exercise class.

  176. I volunteer regularly through my job and am a founding member of our green group and volunteer group as well as our adopt a road program.

  186. I play it forward by donating to the VET Organization of America, this is run by the veterans that serve our country in the military.

  195. I donate extra supplies to my son’s classroom for two reasons. 1) Teachers make crappy money and should not have to pay for things out of their own pocket. 2) I know there are families less fortunate that can’t send supplies and I want to ensure that every child has an even playing field.

  210. I would nominate one of my co-workers because he does a lot of community work when he’s off, like volunteering at an animal shelter and I think he helped with a coat drive over the holidays. He is also pretty generous with monetary donations as well.
