Enjoying a Fall Afternoon Healthy Snack

November 7, 2013 By Beth 4 Comments

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client.

I am not always home when the kids get home from school. I either pick to be here to get them on the bus or off the bus. I generally pick to get them on the busy since the mornings are so rushed. So when I am home to get them off the bus, they are all excited. I have spoiled them by having a snack idea ready for when I am home for bus drop off time. Sure, Brian gives them a snack but planning a snack every day after school doesn’t happen … sometimes it just grab something. We are trying to work in healthier snack options. Earlier this week grapes were a snack and they loved eating those cold grapes! Today I had another cold treat but frozen. We had a perfect fall weather day. So we sent the kids out to play while I gathered up the selection of Outshine Fruit Bars I found at Walmart.

OK I admit the Pomegranate Outshine Fruit Bars are totally for Brian and I but we need healthy snacks too, right? The selection at our Walmart was really great. There were another half dozen choices and I did have a hard time picking what to get. I do love the the Strawberry Wildberry and Lime ones are skinny fruit bars since the kids aren’t great at finishing snacks.

Did you know?

Outshine Fruit Bars are made with natural real fruit or fruit juice, no high-fructose corn syrup and are gluten-free. Many flavors are an excellent source of Vitamin C.

So I met the kids at the playground out back and this what happened.

Some eating Outshine Fruit Bars …

More swinging …

Mommy stuck holding  Outshine Fruit Bars while they kept swinging … (thankfully it wasn’t hot out!) They kept running back for licks. I ended up holding three of them … aye.

I gave up on holding and found a fruit bar left for a swinging break … don’t worry. It was claimed shortly after this picture. I think they thought I was going to sneak away with it!

They did love the Outshine Fruit Bar snack which upholds my good after school snack record. whew! They also know they are in the freezer so I bet they are going to be asking for them the next few days. We are excited to find a new healthy snack for here at our house. What healthy snacks do you love for after school? Leave us a comment and let us know!
