Slowing Down the Pace with Klondike Kandy Bars

June 16, 2014 By Brian 21 Comments

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Weave Made Media® and Klondike, but all my opinions are my own. #weavemade #KandyBar #ad http://my-disclosur.es/RgFrEH

I am not usually the most relaxed person.  I like to keep busy, I like to keep moving, and it can be pretty hard to keep up.  It’s an issue of perpetual motion.  Once I get rolling, stopping gets tough.  That’s why I’m happy for the small pauses in my life and for the chance to share special treats like Klondike Kandy Bars with my kids.

Klondike Kandy Bars-1

One thing that I’ve learned over the years is that, sometimes, you have to make yourself stop.  You can’t simply find the time.  You have to take the time away from something else.  Some guys like to host big backyard cookouts and invite over the entire neighborhood.  Some like to go out drinking with their buddies.  Others like to take off on adventures or getaways alone, with their significant other, or with “the guys”.

Personally, when I take time to relax, the first thing that I think to do is to reconnect with those I leave behind once I get rolling.  At this point, my kids get the brunt of it.  If I’m not leaving them in my dust, I’m pushing their little legs to exhaustion.

I know that this time is precious for them and for me.  Taking some time out a couple of times a week to just sit on the porch and share some ice cream is a simple way to slow things down for them, engage in conversation, and remember just what it is that makes them tick.

Klondike Kandy Bars-2

The Klondike Kandy Bars are kind of nice.  They come in a 4-pack, which is perfect for me to share with my three little ones.  They loved the Cookies & Cream flavor and I can’t wait to try out the other two flavors as well (check out Klondike on Vine and YouTube for more info).  I think we spent about 30 minutes on the porch on a hot afternoon just eating, talking, and laughing about the ice cream running down their faces, hands, and arms.

Klondike Kandy Bars-3

For 30 minutes of conversation with your kids, what would you give up?  A TV show?  A newspaper article?  How about a company happy hour?

Taking those few minutes to stop and focus on those things that are most important to me helps me to keep a little balance in my life.

How do you keep balance?  What is most important in your life?

Oh my goodness, I haven’t had a Klondike bar in ages. Now that summer is here I’ve been trying to slow things and enjoy more time with my boys. It is so important to stop to relax and take it all in.

Klondike brings me back to my childhood, y’know? I distinctly remember being a kid and sharing a Klondike with my parents. Wonder if this was their mindset, too? I know it’s mine now, too, like you. I still remember their jingle 😉 What would YOU do for a Klondike bar? haha

I haven’t seen Klondike mentioned in a long time. However, these new goodies they looks really good.

I take time to turn off all technology and spend it with my kids everyday. It’s not always easy, but I agree with you 110% that they do grow up to quickly.
