Teeth are Expensive … but you can save!

February 27, 2012 By Beth 1 Comment

Remember the post I wrote awhile back about dentalplans.com?

I have a fun (OK, fun from a budget but not a mouth perspective) update to give you. My mom and dad went for their six month check-up appointment recently. As for their check-up, they went from pay $170 for a six month check-up visit to $74! They are saving over 56% on their check-ups! That is a great incentive to keep up their oral health care!

My dad was advised by his dentist to have some additional dental work done to keep his teeth in tip-top shape! I should add here my dad has the good teeth genes in the family (sorry mom but your teeth genes that I inherited are the cruddy ones!)  So dad next appointment has four different of dental term procedures listed on it (and I have no idea what any of them are!). As a cash paying patient, the cost would have been $420. With the discount dental plan, they will be paying $149. That is a savings of $271 or over 65%!!

As dad stood at the receptionist desk making his next appointment, he heard the office staff recommending dentalplans.com to an uninsured patient. He showed the other patient his card with the website on it and hope they took the time to get a plan of their own since they were looking at scheduling additional appointments too! Since he had been in their situation a few short months ago, he was more than happy to share the budget friendly tip with them!

So yes, teeth are expensive but they don’t have to be as expensive if you plan ahead just a bit and buy a discount dental plan for yourself and your family! Remember that dentalplans.com offers 10% to 60% off most dental care procedures with plans start at $79.95 per year for individuals and $129.95 per year for families!

NOTE: We were provided with a dental plan for my parents in support of this review. No other compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are our honest opinion.
