Kids get bored! If you didn’t know it before, you do now. The particularly get bored when it comes to food. Well, Horizon asked us to come up with some new mealtime solutions that will help ward off the mid-year mealtime slump.
It’s March and my kids are getting bored with the same old snacks and meals. They are looking for a little shake up and I’m looking for easy and delicious meals and kids snacks that I can feel good about. We try hard to encourage a healthy lifestyle, including three meals and two snacks every day.
Sometimes, though, convenience has to win out. After school is a whirlwind of activities with homework, piano practice, and a healthy dose of outside time when the weather is nice. With snacks like Horizon Strawberry Super Squeeze and Horizon Cheddar Snack Crackers, I can feel good about giving my kids an easy snack full of organic milk with real fruit and organic wheat with real organic cheese.
Mealtimes can be tough as well. We try to give pretty varied options, but kids are going to be kids and, every now and then, they just want mac and cheese. As much as you’d like to make it from scratch, weeknights just never seem to work out that way. Fortunately, with Horizon Macaroni & Mild Cheddar Cheese, a couple of leftovers, some fresh veggies, and, of course, a little bacon, you can put together a quick and easy mac and cheese bar. Kids always eat better when they have a choice. This way, you get to control the choices a little, but everyone gets their mac and cheese just the way they like it.
