All the way from Massachusetts!

I was really excited to participate in the gift exchange on the blogging community forum. My exchange partner was Karen over at 3 Garnets & 2 Sapphires. Karen is ahead of the game and already posted what I sent her on her site. No, I did not send a Virginia Ham to her even though  I did think about for half a second until I realized that would cost a fortune to ship!!

We were asked to send an ornament, something from our city or state, a sweet or treat, and a white elephant gift.

Here is what Karen sent …

  • Land’s End mittens ornament (they are already up on tree!)
  • a local cookbook (that Brian is already trying to claim!)
  • Peppermint Junior Mints (I am a Junior Mint junkie so these are so great!)
  • some funky pajama pants (which Brian just pointed out match my new pajama shirt I just got. haha!)

Thanks Karen for the fun gift box! I have really enjoyed getting to know Karen better through her blog these past few weeks. Be sure to head over and sign up to follow her on Twitter, Facebook, and subscribe to her email. She has some great tips, worksheets, and giveaways over there!

Online Shopping for Christmas Gifts

We have been searching for the last few Christmas Gifts on our gift list. We try to shop ahead when it comes to holidays and even birthdays. Gosh knows my mom and sister’s birthday presents sat in the clothes for 3 and 6 months respectively because I was shopping a sale! That being said, I am not the best at keeping track of what I buy for folks. I have “our stash”. The stash is generally located next to my gift wrap in a place the kids can’t get to (yet!) But I also have some of the stash in my bedroom closet. That stash is generally my small item stash that is great for stockings and filler gifts though. I need to keep better track of our stash

As part of our shopping habits, we tend to pre-shop online to check out products available and prices for holiday purchases and even regular purchases. Last week Brian was trying to track down some running gloves since was suddenly really cold. He found a great pair of Nike gloves online and then headed to that store to pick a pair of running gloves so he had them for his final half marathon training runs. Thanks to his planning, he knew the store had what he wanted and the price he should expect to pay.

I will probably finish up our Christmas shopping in the next two weeks and it will be mostly online. I love the UPS and FedEx trucks that bring packages straight to my door. I also love that is it so easy to search online for Coupons to use when I shop online. I find I save extra money using the online coupons I find through websites and email offers. I have even been know to pass along a coupon code to family members when I give them a gift idea for the kids. Hey, they should save money too, right?! Plus the added bonus is that I don’t buy that extra whatever that looks so nice on the lovely display they set-up or get the soft pretzel that smells so good but I so don’t need!

Are you done with your Christmas shopping? Do you do most of your Christmas shopping online or in the stores? Leave us a comment and let us know!
