Elmer's Naturals Glue

When challenged with making a craft with the kids, I was stumped. They often make little crafts but they seem to just happen and often aren’t fully planned out before the crafts happen. Then I remembered that Sophie and Matthew need to take their teachers their end of year gifts this week so cards were the perfect creation to make! The major issue was that we are redoing the area in the basement has all of the craft supplies. So I dug through stacks and piles to find the items for this project. I was impressed that I found everything that I looked for to be honest!

Supplies Used:

Here are the kids starting their cards that say “Thank You … for being my teacher!”

Starting Craft Time with Elmer's Naturals Glue

We were testing out the above mentioned Elmer’s Naturals glue stick and bottle of glue. The kids didn’t even notice that these were different. They use glue and glue sticks at school all of the time so they were right at home using these products.

Elmer's Naturals Glue Sticks in Use

I was hoping the glue was strong enough to hold the puffy balls. I wasn’t sure how it would work out but they stuck really nicely. Itouched some of Matthew’s glue and was surprise how sticky the glue was. Being Elmer’s though, it washed right off my fingers!

The kids love their creations.

Back to School Guide #momsguide

We are excited to share this Back to School Eguide for you to use as you get ready to go Back to School!

What brand will we be shopping for? Can you find this picture on one of the Back to School Eguide pages?

Need a better hint? Here ya go!

Have you started back to school shopping? We haven’t to be honest. I have only one of four school supply lists. I love school supply shopping. Everything is on sale and I can stock up on crayons and markers and notebooks and Elmer’s glue sticks. We did back to school shopping for the #BagItForward effort and that helped with my love of school supply shopping!

We haven’t even shopped for back to school outfits yet. The kids get to pick out their back to school outfit each year. It is a big deal to go shopping at stores such as Sears and look through the racks to find that one special outfit they will wear the first day of school! It might be a silly tradition but it is one shopping trip they do really love and then they spend months remembering that outfit as their back to school out. I have never bought a mom back to school outfit though. I normally just grab something out of my closet since I wear dress clothes to work every day. I have made it a mission to wear more skirts and dresses lately so I am hoping to find a great skirt or dress to wear on back to school nights (we will have two this year!)

As for snacks and lunches, we buy items as we see them on sale. There are always Tyson’s Chicken Nuggets in our freezer for quick dinner nights. I am still wonder how I will manage to pack four lunches two nights a week. I guess this is how I ease my way into that happening all of the time. Grace’s one lunch last year stressed me out some nights because I just wanted to go crawl into bed and not mess with a lunch. I am sure I will figure out a routine though!

Watch for a post soon documenting how we used the Back to School Eguide this Back to School season!

#BagItForward School Supply Shopping

Before I could even think about the list for our kids’ back to school shopping, there was a list sitting at the church entrance a few Sundays ago. The list had items that are being requested by GRACE (Greene Alliance of Church and Community Efforts). They do a drive each year to help children in need in this small community. When I say small, I mean small (2 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school.) The community is near a great area of development but it is still a farm based community that is mostly rural. The reduced/free lunch number of students at Grace’s elementary school is over 50% so the need is GREAT here! (This is publicly available information.)

All that being said, we were thrilled to participate  in the #BagItForward event where we shopped and donated items on the Back to School Donation Drive Shopping List. We had already set a budget for our donation shopping so I combined our donation with this opportunity to make a great impact! You can see the full shopping trip and delivery to the donation location in our G+ Photo Album.

I excited to find the Elmer’s Back To School Supply List Stand right inside the front door at Walmart …

Then I found a small display of the Elmer’s products …

I love the purple disappearing glue sticks, how about you?

I kept looking around and was amazed at all of the new Elmer’s products available!

I made it home and Brian helped sort through everything so it could be packed up to be delivered!

The kids were so excited to see the box of school supplies our family was sharing. (Yes, we talk a lot about sharing!)

Then they were off to take it to the donation table …

The little helpers got to work adding the items to the donation table …
