Camping Like a Pirate

Sea Pirate Campground-7

Recently, we took a trip to Tuckerton, NJ to attend the 4th annual Privateers & Pirates Festival.  Many thanks to Partypalooza for the goody bags filled with fun pirate toys and accessories for the kids.  During our visit, we stayed at the Sea Pirate Campground, just north of Tuckerton.

We have stayed at camps like this before.  There are basic cabins with very few amenities, if you are up for roughing it, and deluxe cabins and cottages that offer a little more comfort.  It’s a great way to get away and enjoy a taste of the outdoors without having to sleep in tents and directly on the ground.  We enjoyed taking a dip in the pool, playing on the playground, and roasting marshmallows over a campfire.

I particularly enjoyed waking up early and walking around the camp to take in the beautiful views.

As you stroll around the camp, you will notice a large number of RV’s parked throughout.  Many of them were empty, but it is not uncommon for RVers to rent a space for a month, or even for a season, as a place to visit on a regular basis.  I loved walking around and seeing some of the personalization of these spaces.  It’s not uncommon to see potted plants set out or shows of team spirit.  It’s about making the place you visit feel a little more like home.

For some people, getting away just means having the opportunity to sit up at Queen Ann’s Galley, grab a snack, and work on the projects that they love most without all of the distractions of home.

Make sure you visit the Sea Pirate Campground for more information about how to get away with them.

What a beautiful location! We are definitely a hotel type of family but I’d love to spend a few hours somewhere like that.

It’s beautiful! I’m not a camping kind of gal but like the idea of a deluxe cabin.

We haven’t gone camping but I really want to. My grandparents had an RV and it was amazing that they went all over the country, almost whenever they wanted, and explored. I would love to do that!

I like the fact it’s a touch of camping without going all the way!

That looks like a great time but as a Red Sox fan I don’t think I’d have anywhere to park :p
