Dunkin Donuts “Mug Up” Promotion

Do you drink coffee? I know that I do.

I recently started a new diet trend called Intermittent Fasting. Basically, I eat for about 6-8 hours out of the day and fast for the rest. For me, this means skipping breakfast every day and not eating after about 6 pm. There is science behind this. After about 14 hours without food, your body uses up all of the glucose in the system and starts breaking down fat for energy. Add in a workout during this time and you can lean up pretty quickly. I’ve already dropped 5 pounds in 2 weeks.

Not eating in the morning, though, can mean a pretty grumpy Brian. Since it does not contain any calories, coffee is something that is allowed. I look forward to my one cup of coffee with one no calorie sweetener packet for breakfast each morning. If that’s all I’m having, though, it’d better be one darned good cup of coffee. With the little ones here are the house, I cannot head out to get a cup so I’m thankful, Dunkin Donuts sells its yummy coffee packaged up in the supermarket. I’m also thankful because, if I did have to go to Dunkin Donuts for coffee every morning, I’d be having donuts every morning, too. That would kind of defeat the purpose, right?

T-Mobile’s Home For The Holidays Surprise

I am sure by now you know the T-Mobile spokesperson, Carley, from all of the commercials or their Facebook page. But have you seen the TV show Mobbed? It is a reality TV show about flash mobs that are put together for people to do something. Seeing that I love point-less reality TV shows where they sing, this show is for me. One of my favorite episodes is the one where a couple was married!

Last year, I remember seeing several videos of flash mobs singing Christmas songs. Now you really got me as I love Christmas music and the flash mobs.

I am excited to share with you the T-Mobile Home for the Holidays Surprise at Chicagoland area’s Woodfield Mall which included a surprise performance and updated spin on the holiday classic. This performance was put on by Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon and Musical Director Paul Mirkovich at the helm.

Now you need to click the video to watch this performance but I will tell you what I love. There are only ladies singing … love the girl power! Plus the dresses they are wearing are super cute.

 

The best part is near the end so keep watching. You start see shoppers start clapping along with the ladies which is part of the reason I love the flash mobs. Then you catch a sweet shot of a child standing close the singers clapping right there with them. LOVED that. I would love to experience one of these performance as a bystander not a participant because I can not sing or dance but I love the effort put in these!

Sam’s Club Pink Promotion

Beginning September 19th, Sam’s Club stores will feature exclusive pink packaging on some of your favorite participating General Mills products in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

For 5 years, General Mills has partnered with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Foundation to bring breast cancer support to local communities, and this year they are making their annual donation of $2 million to the foundation to advance breast cancer research and support education and community outreach projects.

Purchase specially-marked General Mills products like Cheerios and Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies at your local Sam’s Club and help decide how half of that contribution will be donated by voting at PinkTogether.com from now until April 14, 2012. General Mills’ donations will be divided between two important Komen programs: the Treatment and Assistance Program, which assists women in securing care they otherwise may not be able to afford, and Prevention Research, which helps unlock the keys to preventing breast cancer. Voting results will be announced on Mother’s Day 2012.

Our Thoughts …

We started shopping at Sam’s Club when we moved here for the main reason it was the only warehouse club in the area. We have grown to love the selection at Sam’s Club  though. I just did a shopping trip with the kids on Saturday. I was thrilled to see the pink lids on the Yoplait yogurt that I put in the cart because I had already read about this promotion. (There was a big display at the front of the store but solo shopping with three kids didn’t allow for browsing on my part! I hope to check out the display more next trip.
