We Became THOSE Neighbors

toilet-in-garden

It only sat in the front flower bed for two days. Really. I promise. There is a good reason that this isn’t our house any more … toilet replacement post to come soon.

What is the worst thing you have left out in your yard … for a day … or two or even three? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Merry Christmas from Simply Budgeted!

Merry Christmas from Simply Budgeted!

We hope you are spending the day with family and friends. We are enjoying our day with family and loving the celebration of Jesus’ birthday.

On Sunday before church the kids had a rare moment of all being happy at the same time (OK, this was like 30 pictures later!) so we wanted to share their Christmas smiles with you.

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Wordless Wednesday: Mud … Tough Mud … Tough Mudder

Brian participated in the Tough Mudder in Maryland on Saturday. This the picture he sent me to my phone after the race.

Thankfully he was slightly cleaner when he got home … oh and theĀ goateeĀ is finally gone!!;)

Do you enjoy the mud races or do think these guys are nuts? Leave us a comment and let us know!

Wordless Wednesday: Derecho

I know this is wordless Wednesday but if you don’t live on the East Coast you probably didn’t hear this word in the past five days. A dercho is a widespread and long-lived, straight-line windstorm that is associated with a fast-moving band of severe thunderstorms. Generally, derechos are convection-induced and take on a bow echo form of squall line. They travel in the direction of movement of their associated storms, similar to an outflow boundary (gust front), except that the wind is sustained and generally, increases in strength behind the front. A warm-weather phenomenon, derechos occur mostly in summer, especially during June and July in the Northern Hemisphere. (source: wikipedia)

We thankfully only lost one tree and our power was only out 13 hours. Yes, I said only one tree and only 13 hours. 20% of the people without power as a result still don’t have power. They don’t expect power to be fully restored until this Friday … a WEEK later! Many in this area lost many HUGE trees … we lost this one no where near the house.

We were blessed even if the wind did twist the trunk of one of pear trees like it was a toothpick!

Wordless Wednesday: Blue Shirt Day

Today’s color at Vacation Bible School is blue. Brian and the kids all wore their blue tie dyed shirts that I made. I made the blue shirts for Girl Scouts and Brian and Matthew ended up with ones since the bucket of blue dye was in the kitchen! Brian is leading one of the Mission classes at VBS so he got to join in on the matching blue shirt wardrobe today!

Wordless Wednesday: Three little monkeys sleeping on the bed

The girls share a room and asked for their beds to be pushed together. We told them when school ended. On Sunday night, they told Little Dude that he cold sleep with them. This is what I found a few hours after they went to bed.

Wordless Wednesday: Kindergarten Graduation

On Monday, Grace’s school had their Kindergarten graduation ceremony (the last day of school is today). She was so happy yet was not in the mood to take any nice pictures. We didn’t fight it. oh well. (Sophie is in the back of this picture as an added bonus!)

I just noticed she wore the same dress her first day of Kindergarten! So funny she picked the same dress both days!
